To provide a method for producing a raw material for urethane by the waste treatment comprising the recovery of a highly pure rigid urethane foam from a waste refrigerator containing rigid urethane foam and the chemical decomposition of the recovered foam to a reusable urethane raw material, provide a method for manufacturing a refrigerator using the recovered urethane raw material and provide a refrigerator manufactured by the method.

A refrigerator containing rigid urethane foam is crushed, block of rigid urethane foam separated by the crushing process is ground to form rigid urethane foam powder, the powder is liquefied by aminolysis reaction or glycolysis reaction, the liquefied product is brought into contact with supercritical water or subcritical water to effect the decomposition of the rigid urethane foam powder and the crude product obtained by the decomposition process is purified by fractional distillation to obtain the raw material for the production of rigid urethane foam.
