Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a low-S-containing gas, by making reduced iron absorb sulfur in a reducing gas and thereby removing sulfur from the reducing gas, in a process of producing the reduced iron.

In the process for producing the reduced iron by reducing iron ore with the gas, this production method comprising the steps of: charging at least any one of a part of a reduced iron product produced in a reducing furnace, and screened reduced iron obtained by screening the massive reduced iron product prepared by aggregating the reduced iron product produced in the reducing furnace by a molding machine, into the reducing furnace; cooling the gas discharged from the reducing furnace as needed; and supplying a part of the gas to the reducing furnace to control the temperature of the reducing furnace into 400 to 500°C. The reducing furnace is preferably a fluidized-bed furnace or a shaft furnace.
