PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing release paper of high quality causing no problem in heavy release and surface roughness.SOLUTION: A method for producing release paper having a paper base material 1, a sealing layer 3a and a release agent layer 5 includes: a step of laminating the sealing layer 3a on a paper base material 1; and a step of applying a mixture containing an aminoalkyd resin and an epoxy resin in a specific mass ratio and containing no silicon-based compound onto the sealing layer 3a, and thermally curing the mixture at 110-140°C to form a release agent layer 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
