To provide a method for producing a resin belt capable of producing a resin belt free from surface irregularities in high productivity, inexpensively and with great precision.
A thermoplastic sheet film 1 is wound around a cylindrical member 2 by n rounds, a tubular member 3 is fitted to the outer face of the wound film 1, and at least the film 1 is heated to bond the sheet film 1 together, thereby forming the sheet film 1 into a resin belt. In this method for producing the resin belt, the outer surface of the cylindrical member 2 is coated or treated. A surface coating material on the outer surface of the cylindrical member 2 is adjusted to have a heat conductivity lower than that of the cylindrical member 3. The outer surface of the cylindrical member 2 is coated with a resin composition. In this case, the resin composition coated on the outer surface of the cylindrical member 2 should have a thickness of 1 μm to 10 mm and have a thickness distribution of within ±10%.
