To provide a method for producing a rubber-steel composite cord which achieves uniform coating of the circumference of core part with unvulcanized rubber and obtains a rubber-steel composite cord having improved fatigue resistance in producing a cord having a core part and sheath filaments arranged around the core part and a rubber-steel composite cord obtained by the method.
The method for producing a rubber-steel composite cord includes coating the circumference of a core part 1 composed of one or a plurality of filaments with unvulcanized rubber and twisting sheath filaments 12 around the core part 1A. Before coating with unvulcanized rubber, the core part 1 is heated under conditions that when satisfying the formula: 0.6CB2.0C, the heating temperature of the core part is 70-100C, when satisfying the formula: 2.0CB4.0C, the heating temperature of the core part is 50-70C and when satisfying the formula: 4.0CB6.5C, the heating temperature of the core part is 20-50C on the basis of a relation between the cross-section area B of the unvulcanized rubber and the cross-section area C of the core part.
