To provide a solid fuel not requiring high-temperature heat treatment in a production process, causing very little amount of smoke under burning, and efficiently radiating far infrared rays effective for the cooking of a food material.
The method for producing the solid fuel includes: a soaking step of impregnating coconut husk 50 of one of vegetable fiber with mineral water 44; a firing step of carbonizing the coconut husk 50 by heating the coconut husk in a nonoxidative atmosphere; a pulverizing step of granulating the carbonized product 52 obtained at the firing step by pulverizing the product; a kneading step of adding a binder 55 such as starch, the mineral water 44, a mineral powder 46 and active water 45 to the granulated carbonized product 54 obtained at the pulverizing step, and kneading and mixing them; a molding step of solidifying the kneaded carbonized product 57 obtained at the kneading step; and a drying step of obtaining the solid fuel 60 by evaporating the water in the solid carbonized product 59 obtained at the molding step. The mineral water 44 to be added at the kneading step contains mineral components obtained by using an animal and plant plankton fossil as a raw material.
