Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING SOLIDIFIED COAL ASH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012211029
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To produce a solidified material having been coated with a material which ensures material strength, inhibits the elution of trace substances, improves design properties, and gives such surface denseness and whiteness as to enable the solidified material to be used as sand or gravel usable for the environmental restoration, such as artificial beach nourishment, of coasts, riversides, etc.

A kneaded mixture containing coal ash, lime, and an optionally added gypsum is granulated, the granules are coated with a shell powder during high-humidity curing or after underwater curing, and are subjected to air curing to form a solidified material surfaced with a thick carbonate film comprising calcium carbonate, etc., whereupon the shell powder is applied to the surface of the solidified material and fused by hydration reaction to be held on the surface of the solidified material.
