Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a steel wire for a spring for obtaining a steel wire for a spring for producing a spring excellent in fatigue properties.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a steel wire for a spring comprising: a preparation step where a wire stock to form into the stock of a steel wire for a spring is prepared; and a twisting step where twisting of cold-applying shear strain of 0.30 to 0.50% is applied to the wire stock to obtain a steel wire for a spring. According to the method for producing the steel wire for a spring, by twisting the wire stock, the steel wire for a spring in which the hardness of the surface is made higher than the hardness of the inside can be produced. By producing a spring using the steel wire for a spring, the spring having fatigue properties equal to those in the case shot peening or nitriding treatment is performed to the spring can be obtained without performing these treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
