Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a substituted polyol derivative, by which a substituted polyol derivative excellent in solvent solubility is obtained at a low cost.
The method for producing a substituted polyol derivative includes; a preparation step of preparing a polyol compound; a cyanoalkylation step of substituting part of the hydroxy groups in the polyol compound by 3-10C cyanoalkyl groups; and an esterification step of substituting part or all of the remaining hydroxy groups in the polyol compound by 6-18C fatty acid ester groups.
