Abstract:
To provide methods for producing carbohydrate chains with shortened reaction time by successively conducting glycosylation of reaction intermediates and sugar receptors without waiting accumulation of the activated reaction intermediates.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for producing a carbohydrate chain comprising: selecting one hexose represented by formula (1); activating the hexose to generate an intermediate cation having dissociated -X site represented by formula (2) or an equivalent thereof; and simultaneously linking the cationic site of the intermediate cation of formula (2) to a hydroxy moiety of a hexose of the same kind represented by formula (1). In the formula, R1, R2, R3 and X are specific substituents. One of the two R1 is hydroxy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
