To provide a method for producing a superconducting material capable of depositing a Bi-based superconducting crystal by a short-time treatment, with a small amount of deposition of different kinds of crystals (crystals not showing superconducting characteristics).

This method for producing a superconducting material has a step in which an amorphous material containing as a composition, in terms of mol%, 7-35% Bi₂O₃, 25-65% SrO and 25-65% CuO is brought into contact with a melt containing a Ca-containing compound.
