Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING TANTALUM, NIOBIUM OR THE LIKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3690990
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing tantalum, niobium or the like by which ores or concentrates are treated with a hydrofluoric acid solution of a low concentration to dissolve tantalum, niobium or the like, and antimony can be removed with high efficiency.
SOLUTION: In the method for producing tantalum, niobium or the like, tantalum, niobium or the like are collected and refined by using an alkali extraction method. The method is provided with a process where a pulverized raw material in which the specific surface area of ores or concentrates as the raw material is controlled to ≥0.5 m2/g is subjected to dissolution treatment by using a hydrofluoric acid solution of 55 wt.% to obtain a fluorine extraction solution, mineral acid is added thereto in an antimony removal stage to control the concentration of fluorine ions and the concentration of free acid in the mineral acid in prescribed ranges, and antimony as impurities in the solution is substitutionally removed by using a base metal component.
