Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce terephthalic acid with a compact production installation and recover energy efficiently and reduce the amount of exhaust gas for production of terephthalic acid.SOLUTION: A method of producing terephthalic acid is based on liquid phase oxidation of p-xylene, and, in a step of recovering crude terephthalic acid cake containing crude terephthalic acid and liquid substances obtained by the liquid phase oxidation in a container and blowing an introduction gas into the container, the exhaust gas discharged by the liquid phase oxidation is used as the introduction gas for the container.
