PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing MgSi based thermoelectric materials with high efficiency (high reaction rate) using microwave heating.SOLUTION: The method for producing a thermoelectric material includes steps of: preparing a raw material mixture by mixing Mg and Si having an atomic ratio of 2: 1 and fullerene; and irradiating a raw material mixture with a microwave having a frequency of 2.45 GHz.SELECTED DRAWING: None
