Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition having excellent characteristics such as moldability.SOLUTION: A method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition includes the steps of dynamically crosslinking a carbodiimide group-containing compound (A), an olefin polymer (B) having a group that reacts with a carbodiimide group, a polar rubber (C), an olefin polymer (D) and a crosslinker (E), using a batch kneader, while satisfying conditions (1)-(3): (1) Tmax.≥T1, (2) T2≤T3, (3) 2.0≤P1≤8.5 [Tmax.=resin maximum temperature (°C) from crosslinker (E) input to composition discharge, T1=ΔE/(8.314×(LnA-3))-273.15, ΔE=activation energy (J/mol), A=frequency factor (hr), T2=resin temperature (°C) at crosslinker (E) input, T3=ΔE/(8.314×(LnA-5))-273.15, P1=LnA-ΔE/(8.314×(Tave.+273.15)), Tave.=resin average temperature (°C) from crosslinker (E) input to composition discharge].SELECTED DRAWING: None
