To provide a method for producing a toluene dicarbamate, by which the production of by-products can be reduced, to provide the toluene dicarbamate obtained by the production method, and to provide a method for producing toluene diisocyanate, for the production of the toluene diisocyanate from the toluene dicarbamate.
The method for producing the toluene dicarbamate is characterized by having a carbamate-producing process of reacting toluene diamine, urea and/or an N-nonsubstituted carbamic acid ester, and an alcohol to produce the toluene dicarbamate, and a benzoylene urea-reducing process of reducing a disubstituted benzoylene urea substituted with methyl group and amino group, and a derivative thereof to ≤10 moles per 100 moles of the toluene dicarbamate.
