To provide a method for producing toner which enables easily controlling average particle size and enables efficiently producing the toner having a sharp particle size distribution.
This method for producing toner comprises at least a toner granulation process and a polymerization process, therein, the toner granulation process is a process where a polymerizable monomer composition and a dispersion stabilizer are included in a granulation vessel 1, are dispersed into a liquid dispersing medium which is substantially incompatible with the polymerizable monomer composition and are granulated, the granulation vessel is equipped with a stirring device having a high shearing force therein, and there is relation; 0.9>D2/D1>0.3 and 0.1<H/D1<0.6, wherein, D1 is the major axis of a rotating body formed when a stirring vane is rotated, D2 is the miner axis thereof and H is the height thereof.
