To provide a method for producing a transmission belt which prevents the occurrence of roughening on the surface of rubber by laminating a rubber layer corresponding to a compressed rubber layer with short fibers oriented in one direction and an adhesive rubber layer not containing short fibers and extruding the laminate smoothly and is capable of low cost molding by reducing a production manday.
In the method for producing the transmission belt, a two-layer cylindrical molding 17 in which short fiber-containing rubber is laminated inside and adhesive rubber is laminated outside is extrusion-molded by an expansion die 5 with its diameter expanded gradually from the inlet to the outlet, the molding is cut/opened, and adhesive rubber 16 is laminated to obtain a two-layer rubber sheet 20. The rubber sheet 20 is cut by a prescribed length in the longitudinal direction to obtain a molded sheet 54 with adhesive rubber 52. At least a core wire 53 and the sheet 54 with the adhesive rubber 52 are wound onto a mold 50, and the core wire 53 is adjoined the adshesive rubber 52 to manufacture a belt molding 55. The belt molding 55, after being vulcanized, is polished to finish a belt sleeve with a rib part 56 arranged.
