Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a transmission belt which effectively utilizes, for a compression rubber layer, rubber sheets obtained by cutting the rubber sheets containing short fiber inferior to the inner layer in the orientation (in direction vertical to the extrusion) of the short fiber on the surface layer into a plurality of thin pieces.
SOLUTION: (1)A cylindrical molding 13 obtained by extrusion molding short fiber mixed rubber 7 using an annular expanding die 15 into a short fiber containing rubber sheet 18. (2) The sheet 18 is split into thin pieces of cut rubber sheets 53a. (3) The sheets 53a are interposed between the inner mold 71 equipped with a flexible jacket 72 and the outer mold 76 engraved with a rib mould 75 on the inner surface, so that the layer dominant in the orientation of the short fiber (in direction vertical to the extrusion) faces the rib mould 75. (4) A preliminary molded object 77 in close contact with the outer mold is made by expansion deformation of the sheets 53a, and the inner mold 71 wound with a core wire 79 on the flexible jacket 72 face of the mold 71 removed from the mold 76 is installed in the mold 76. (5) The jacket 72 is expanded to integrally vulcanize with the preliminary moldedobject 77 having the core wire 79 installed to the mold 76. Thus, a vulcanized belt sleeve 80 is produced.
