Abstract:

To provide a method for producing tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane-2-carboxylic acid ester in which a constitutional ratio of exo-tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane-endo-2-carboxylic acid ester to endo-tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane-exo-2-carboxylic acid ester is ≥1.0.

The method for producing tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane-2-carboxylic acid ester in which the constitutional ratio of exo-tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane-endo-2-carboxylic acid ester to endo-tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decane-exo-2-carboxylic acid ester is ≥1.0 comprises reacting tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]dec-3-ene with carbon monoxide in the presence of HF to provide the corresponding acyl fluoride and then reacting the acyl fluoride with an alcohol. In the method for producing the acyl fluoride, tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]dec-3-ene which is a raw material is used in a state diluted with aliphatic hyrocarbons in amounts of 60-230 mass parts based on 100 mass parts of the raw material.
