Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing triglyceride containing odd number-fatty acid as a main component and triglyceride containing higher unsaturated fatty acid as a main component with high efficiency.SOLUTION: The present inventors found out that cultures alage belonging to Aurantiochytrium in a cell in large quantities, extracts a fatty acid, and thereby can produce triglyceride containing microorganism-derived saturated odd number-fatty acid as a main component and triglyceride containing ω-3 higher unsaturated fatty acid as a main component with high efficiency, based on remarkable finding that the algae can accumulate two kinds of the triglyceride containing the saturated odd number-fatty acid as the main component and the triglyceride containing the higher unsaturated fatty acid as the main component can be accumulated in the cell in large quantities using a synthetic route of the two fatty acids, to complete the present invention.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
