Abstract:
To provide a method for economically producing a high-purity HHTP(hexahydroxytriphenylene) on an industrial scale without needing any troublesome operations and without using any environmentally unfavorable compounds while diminishing wastes to a minimum.
The method for producing 2,3,6,7,10,11-hexahydroxytriphenylene comprises oxidizing catechol with an organic oxidizing agent in the presence of a protonic acid.
