To provide a vinyl chloride copolymer resin excellent in polymerization stability and with a scarce scale formation which comprises a copolymerization product of a vinyl chloride monomer and a macromonomer having a polymer of ethylenic unsaturated monomer with double bonds as a main chain and contains little residue of the macromonomer.
The vinyl chloride copolymer resin is produced by copolymerizing the vinyl chloride monomer and the macromonomer. When producing the vinyl chloride copolymer, the ratio of the vinyl chloride monomer to the total amount of monomer components is ≥50 wt.% and <100 wt.%, and the gross weight (M) of the macromonomer and the vinyl chloride monomer and the initial water weight (H) are within a range of 0<H/M≤3.0 (1). After a dispersing agent and an emulsifier are dissolved in initial water, the macromonomer is added to and is dispersed in the initial water. The vinyl chloride is then added to the mixture to produce the vinyl chloride copolymer resin.
