Abstract:

To provide a method for producing water-absorptive polyurethane foam capable of easily producing polyurethane foam excellent in water absorptivity while suppressing discoloration.

This water-absorptive polyurethane foam 11 is produced by reacting raw materials including an aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanate, a polyester polyol, a polyoxyethylene compound as a hydrophilizing agent, a catalyst and a foaming agent, foaming and curing. The obtained water-absorptive polyurethane foam 11 is so composed that skins 14a and 14b of cured matter of the foam are formed on both faces thereof. The amount of compounded polyoxyethylene compound is 1-10 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass sum total of the polyester polyol and the polyoxyethylene compound. The temperature at the reacting, foaming and curing is 40-130°C. Also the isocyanate index is preferably 85-100.
