Abstract:
To provide a production method of a water-soluble polymer that is easy in operations such as stirring of a reaction system, removal of a reaction heat generated during polymerization, and extraction of a reaction product from a reaction system, even when a polymer amount of a water-soluble polymer is produced by adopting a condition of high monomer concentration, and can be applied in an industrial scale.SOLUTION: A production method of a water-soluble polymer includes a step of producing a water-soluble polymer by reverse phase suspension polymerizing or dispersion polymerizing a water-soluble vinyl-based monomer, and the reverse phase suspension polymerization or dispersion polymerization is carried out according to a living radical polymerization method that uses an exchange chain transfer mechanism type control agent.SELECTED DRAWING: None
