To provide a method for producing a wavelength conversion member while suppressing degradation of a phosphor with low heat resistance.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for producing a wavelength conversion member with phosphors dispersed in a matrix, including the steps of (1) mixing metal halide and polyvalent inorganic weak acid, heating them to obtain a melt, and (2) adding phosphors into the melt, followed by cooling.SELECTED DRAWING: None
