Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a woody fiber material, capable of opening fibers in a short time and capable of producing the fiber material of good quality.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the woody fiber material has a process for treating a woody material containing bast with ammonium oxalate and another process for treating the ammonium oxalate-treated woody material with hemicellulase. The woody material is separated into a cuticle and a fiber layer, or into two or more fiber layers, by treating the woody material with the ammonium oxalate. Thereafter, hemicellulose is removed by treating the woody material with the hemicellulase. Therefore, the woody material is fiberized in a comparatively short time under such a condition that cellulose is hardly decomposed, so that the fiber material of the good quality is produced.
