PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a woven fabric, by which even weak fibers including noble metal single fibers such as 24 gold fibers can be woven to form the woven fabric, and to provide an apparatus for producing the woven fabric.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the woven fabric by the use of a power loom driven with a rotated motor (2) is characterized by having an opening movement step for upward and downward dividing warps (A) to form an opening, a weft insertion-preparing movement step for accelerating a weft (B) toward the opening, a weft insertion movement step for inserting the weft into the opening, a weft insertion-finishing movement step for decelerating the weft passed through the opening, an opening-closing movement step for returning the upward and downward divided warps to close the opening, and a weft-beating movement step for beating the weft inserted into the opening at the weft insertion movement step with a reed (16), and further by more reducing the rotation rates of the motor at least at the weft insertion-preparing movement step and the weft insertion-finishing movement step than the rotation rate of the motor at the weft insertion movement step.
