Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a channel on a metal substrate for the structure which cools various components of a gas turbine engine.SOLUTION: A method includes a step of applying a metal coating material 34 of at least one layer to a surface of a substrate 30 by a cold spray technique such that a boundary wall of a channel 46 is defined and accumulated up to a desired height, and applies an additional coating material 36 onto one or more surfaces of the boundary wall by the cold spray technique so as to change the shape of the channel 46. Here, the substrate 30 may be any type of high-temperature component or high-temperature gas flow passage component, and the substrate 30 has the channel 30 formed on a surface of a gas turbine engine component as a gas turbine engine wall in several cases.
