Abstract:

To provide a method of production for continuous collagen monofilament used for surgical suture in medial application such as inside or on the surface, etc., of organism, various membrane-like materials, cloth-like materials, bag-like materials and tubular materials for filling and prosthetics in tissue engineering fields/regenerative medicine fields, or production of support for medicine, etc., and the collagen monofilament is free from broken thread, and mutual adhesion of filament after winding.

The method of production for the continuous collagen monofilament comprises dehydrating/coagulating filament like collagen in a hydrophilic organic solvent with about ≤10% of water content and then drying in a condition of relative humidity ≤50% and ≤42°C of temperature.
