The method for production of a grooved bolt includes: forming a bolt-gripping part 8c on an underhead section 8 of a bolt raw material 15 by pinching the underhead section 8 to roll in the molding part of a guide-forming die 11; starting the formation of a thread 7a on a thread-forming part at the molding part of a thread-forming die 12; and then pinching and rolling the bolt-gripping part 8c in the finishing section of the guide-forming die 11 to perform the finish machining of the thread 7a at the finishing section of the thread-forming die 12 using the bolt-gripping part 8c as a guide.
