To provide a method for efficiently proliferating and inducing a nerve stem cell most important for transplantation, treatment, etc., of nerve injury or neurological function insufficient disease in vitro and in vitro.
The method for proliferating and inducing a nerve stem cell comprises separating a mammalian nerve tissue containing a nerve stem cell, selectively culturing the nerve stem cell in a culture medium containing a growth factor such as EGF (epidermal growth factor), FGF (fibroblast growth factor), etc., then coculturing the nerve stem cell and a dendritic cell such as an immature dendritic cell subset having a surface marker of CD11c on the cell surface or a hematocytic cell such as splenocyte, CD8 positive T cell, etc., or culturing the nerve stem cell after the culture in the presence of GM-CSF (glanulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor) or culturing the nerve stem cell after the culture in a culture supernatant of a dendritic cell or a culture supernatant of a hematocytic cell.
