Abstract:
To provide a method for strengthening the protection of particularly surrounding of a steel tapping hole having the tendency toward the vigorous erosion and further, improving the productivity, in the protecting method of a lining refractory of a converter type furnace for executing the protecting coating by sticking slag on the surface of the lining refractory.
A nozzle 4 is inserted into the furnace from the steel tapping hole 3, and while supplying the powdery coating material 6 from the nozzle, the slag is stuck on the surface of the refractory 2 to apply the protecting coating. The protecting coating can be executed while blowing gas to the residual slag 10 from a main lance 5 during blowing or after tapping the steel.
