Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject method for purifying α-APM in which DKP is efficiently removed from the α-APM containing at least the DKP as an impurity.
CONSTITUTION: α-L-Aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester (α-APM) containing at least 3-benzyl-6-carboxymethyl-2,5-dioxopiperazine (DKP) as an impurity is brought into contact with hydrochloric acid and the deposited α-L-aspartyl-L- phenylalanine methyl ester hydrochloride and the 3-benzyl-6-carboxymethyl-2,5- dioxopiperazine are separated by classification to sift the 3-benzyl-6- carboxymethyl-2,5-dioxopiperazine to the side of the liquid phase.
