To provide a method for purifying aluminum or an aluminum alloy capable of satisfactorily removing impure elements with high productivity as opposed to the conventional methods in which impurities are first converted into composite compounds and the compounds are then separated and removed but the separation is not good enough and a large loss of aluminum occurs.
This method is a method for removing impure elements from aluminum or an aluminum alloy contg. impure elements, in which the aluminum or aluminum alloy contg. impure elements is added with composite compd. forming elements to form into a molten metal 5, and the molten metal is held to a temp. from 640 to 700°C and is rotated in a rectifying way. This rotation is executed preferably by an electromagnetic stirring device 13.
