Abstract:
To provide a method for purifying dialkyl carbonate, having less energy consumption as compared with those of conventional methods.
This continuous method for purifying a dialkyl carbonate/alcohol mixture in the case of preparing a lower dialkyl carbonate includes performing the ester interchanging reaction of especially a cyclic alkylene carbonate (e.g. ethylene carbonate or propylene carbonate) with a lower alcohol by using a catalyst. In order to optimize an economical property and energy efficiency in the method, a device for intermediately heating the liquid flow of the system is used.
