To provide a method for purifying (meth)acrylic acid, which suppresses scaling on the inner wall surface of a crystallization tank and occurrence of flaw on the inner wall surface.
In the method for purifying (meth)acrylic acid by using a crystallization apparatus composed of one or more crystallization tanks and crystallizing (meth)acrylic acid, the crystallization tank includes a cooling mechanism having the inner wall surface of the crystallization tank, serving as a heat transfer surface, and a stirring mechanism having a stirring blade equipped with a scraper that is contacted with the inner wall surface of the crystallization tank and stirs while scraping (meth)acrylic acid crystal attached to the inner wall surface of the crystallization tank by rotation. The scraper has a material of contact part with the inner wall surface of the crystallization tank, made of nylon and (meth)acrylic acid is crystallized by cooling while stirring crude (meth)acrylic acid introduced into the crystallization tank by the stirring mechanism and the cooling mechanism.
