Abstract:

To neutralize an acidic pyrolysis oil obtained by the pyrolysis of polystyrene.

The method is a method comprising dissolving polystyrene in a solvent and pyrolyzing the resulting polystyrene solution to form a pyrolysis oil, wherein an aqueous alkali solution is added to the polystyrene solution to form an emulsion, and the emulsion is fed into a pyrolyzer to pyrolyze the polystyrene.
