PURPOSE: To suppress a transfer mark of a supporting ring, to improve forming accuracy and strength, to make forming and cooling efficient and to prevent the damage and heat cracks of the sheet due to the ring by making the pressure of cooling air from below a glass sheet higher than the pressure of the cooling air from above the sheet and quenching the sheet.
CONSTITUTION: An upper cooler 20 and a lower cooler 21 are arranged so that the cooling air injection holes (not shown in the figure) formed in the air injection faces are opposed to each other. The cooling air sent under pressure from a blower or an accumulator (not shown in the figure) is vertically blown against a glass sheet. A bent glass sheet 2 is supported by a cooling ring 10 and transported between the coolers 20 and 21, and cooling air is blown vertically against the sheet. In this case, the pressures of the injected cooling air are differentiated, and the sheet 2 is floated from the ring 10 by the pressure difference. Meanwhile, an abutting ring 22 is provided to the upper cooler 20 to hold the sheet 2.
