There are provided a method of question and answer service to exchange information related to a program or a scene as viewed, a broadcast receiver having a question and answer service function, and a recording medium readable by a computer that stores a program adapted to execute the method. The method of question and answer service includes steps of: when a user's question occurs during viewing of a program, acquiring image information about a specific area of a screen displayed on a display unit at the occurrence of the question; selecting question-category information relating to the obtained image information displayed on the display unit; transmitting both information relating to the obtained image information and the selected question-category information to a server via a network; and, in the case of receiving information about at least one answer relating to the selected question-category information from the server via the network, outputting information regarding the received answer.
