Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for raising paddy rice seedlings, capable of improving workability through lightening a raising seedling box, and also capable of making a good raising seedling without using any raising seedling equipment.
SOLUTION: This method for raising paddy rice seedlings comprises the following process: laying, on the bottom face of a raising seedling box 1, a floor mat 2 comprising a base flat plate 21 formed into a rectangular plate-like body and having a moisture permeation function, and a root-stretch promoting portion 23 consisting of either of plural pieces of narrow cylindrical bodies made of a moisture permeable porous material, or a wavy plate-like body 22 also made of a moisture permeable porous material and having wavy shapes regularly arranged in the cross direction or the depth direction, and formed so as to secure multiple cylindrical hollows on the base flat plate 21, wherein the base flat plate 21 and the root-stretch promoting portion 23 are laminated with each other, spreading relatively small amount of bed soil 3 all over the mat 2 followed by uniformly sowing seed rice 4 and 4, and just after sowing the seed rice, watering a suitable amount of warm water at around 42-30°C thereon, and then, covering the thus treated surface with top soil 5 so that every bud is spouted within a predetermined period of time.
