When receiving and delivering the workpiece held by a collet chuck of a first spindle from/to a collet chuck of a second spindle, torque of a feed shaft direction of the second spindle is made smaller than a prescribed value. As a result, the second spindle is moved forward and backward in the feed shaft direction to cancel retracting direction or extruding direction stress loaded on the workpiece, and the deviation amount can be detected and corrected, when jaws of the collet chuck of the second spindle are closed to hold the workpiece.
