Abstract:
PURPOSE: To achieve a method and a recorder capable of determining an optimal recording intensity of a laser beam without additional hardware and further recording an information pattern at a desired low error rate.
CONSTITUTION: Signals are recorded on a record carrier 1 by a radiation beam 15. The signal are recorded in parallel tracks 4 having an almost fixed track pitch in a form of optically detectable marks. A recording intensity of the radiation beam 15 is set so that an information pattern can be recorded at a desired low '(Block) Error Rate' with a least recording intensity. Further, this method and device allow the above-mentioned radiation beam 15 to be determined to the above least recording intensity.
