Abstract:

To provide a method for recovering Al component from slag of molten Al by which the separating efficiency of the slag and the Al is maintained or improved without damaging the basic advantage in the method for treating the slag under high temp. condition.

This method is for separating and recovering the aluminum component from the slag by executing stirring treatment, at the outside of a furnace, to the slag separated and discharged from the molten aluminum in the melting surface. The discharged slag is charged into a vessel and the slag is heated by adding a flux and the stirring of the slag is executed to separate the aluminum component and the slag. The flux is composed of 20-30 wt.% KNO3, 20-30 wt.% AlF3 and the balance KCl.
