To provide a method for recovering aluminum dross, which surely destroys a shell of the oxide and the nitride that cover a molten aluminum particle or droplet in the dross, and thereby increases a recovery rate for an aluminum component in dross, and to provide an apparatus therefor.
This recovering method comprises the steps of: inserting a diaphragm 6 into the dross 1 which is accommodated in a vessel 3 having an opening 2 formed at least in the bottom and is heated to a melting point of aluminum or higher; directly applying the vibration of a diaphragm to the dross to separate the aluminum component from the dross as a droplet; subsequently raising the diaphragm from the dross; vibrating the vessel to move the droplet of the molten aluminum in the dross to the bottom of the vessel; and then pressurizing the dross with a compression block 31 for compressing the dross to squeeze only the aluminum component through the opening formed in the bottom of the vessel and recover the aluminum component in a metal sump 4 arranged in a lower part of the vessel.
