PURPOSE: To obtain high-quality amino acid crystal from a desorbed eluate of amino acid, by previously exchanging admixed cations in an amino acid solution with hydrogen ion by using Donnan dialysis device to increase an adsorption amount on cation exchange resin.
CONSTITUTION: Donnan dialysis device is used and an amino acid solution admixed with inorganic cations is brought into contact with an acid solution through a permeable membrane at a temperature as high as possible in a heat- resistant temperature range by allowing to stand, stirring or flowing to exchange the admixed cations in the amino acid solution with hydrogen ion. Then, the amino acid solution from which the admixed cations were removed are brought into contact with a cation exchange resin and the amino acid is adsorbed on the resin, desorbed and eluted to give the aimed substance.
