Abstract:

To provide a method for efficiently recovering a catalyst in the oxo reaction of a functional olefinic compound.

In recovering a catalyst component in hydroformylation reaction for reacting the functional olefinic compound with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of the catalyst, the hydroformylation reaction is performed in the presence of a rhodium compound (a) and water soluble tertiary phosphine (b) and water is added to and mixed with the obtained reaction liquid to form an emulsion and, thereafter, the separation of the catalyst component is accelerated by a coalescing agent.
