Title:
METHOD FOR RECOVERING AND DISPOSING RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL OF 63 NUCLIDE CONTAINING TRITIUM WATER WHICH IS COOLING WATER AFTER COOLING NUCLEAR REACTOR, IN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS OPERATING ALL OVER THE WORLD WITHOUT PERFORMING OCEAN DUMPING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2022003326
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To recover and dispose a radioactive material of 63 nuclide containing tritium water, which is cooling water after cooling a nuclear reactor without performing ocean dumping.SOLUTION: After a flake ice machine shown in Fig. 4 is used to make contaminated water at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into irregularly shaped flake ices with a thickness of 1 mm to 1.5 mm and a size of 1 cm to 3 cm, the flake ices are put in a ton bag made of a thick cotton cloth such as jeans, a ton bag made of other fibers/woven fabrics, a container with an opening portion, or a container without a lid, and then, the ton bag is put in a vacuum tank to make the inside in a vacuum state. Tritiated water (H3O), which is in the form of flake ices, sublimates, vaporizes, and disappears. Then, a radioactive material of 62 nuclide, which is solidified inside the ton bag, is taken out from the contaminated water in a dried state, collected, and disposed of.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
