To provide an LCD treatment method capable of decreasing the treatment cost, lessening the environmental load, and making a glass substrate of an LCD reusable as a glass substrate again.

The method for recovering glass from an LCD comprises a step 10 of setting the LCD and heating it at a temperature of burning or carbonizing combustible substances or higher and lower than glass melting temperature, a step 20 of collecting and cooling gases generated in the heating step 10, a step 30 of adsorbing harmful substances contained in the gases to activated carbon by passing the gases through an activated carbon layer, a step 40 of detoxicating the used activated carbon with supercritical water, and a step 60 of taking a glass substrate out of the residues in a furnace and separating and removing adhering substances by sand blast treatment of the taken-out glass substrate.
