Abstract:

To provide a method for recovering a harmful ion, which has excellent recovery efficiency, can capture various harmful ions, is flexible, is less likely to disintegrate upon immersion in an acid, a base or the like, can realize repeated treatment, has excellent workability, has a large harmful ion capture level per polymer network unit weight and, thus, has excellent transferability to a disposing facility even when a contaminated area is a distant place, and, further, can easily dissociate and recover the captured harmful ion by a simple operation.

This method comprises: the solution contact step of bringing an organic polymer gel, containing a hydrophilic polymer having a three-dimensional network structure and a chelate forming chain, which branches from the hydrophilic polymer and is bonded to the harmful ion, into contact with a harmful ion-containing aqueous solution to capture the harmful ions in the organic polymer gel; and the desorption agent contact step of bringing the organic polymer gel, which has captured the harmful ions, into contact with a desorption agent to elute the harmful ions in the desorption agent.
